Skribit: Review of Skribit

Skribit: Review of Skribit.

Have you ever had writer’s block? I know I do, and trying to figure out what to write about when all you see is a blank slate in front of you can be downright aggravating. Take heart – help is just a widget away with Skribit .

This handy little widget is a way for readers to leave comments about what they would like to see you write about.  Once you have it installed, one way to encourage your readers to actually use it is to ask them for suggestions, and then write about them so that people can actually see you are open to new ideas. Readers are allowed to post anonomously, which may help people feel more comfortable leaving comments, espescially those lurkers we all seem to have, but if you like knowing who is commenting, there is a way to change that in your setup.

Well, what are you waiting for? ;)

I’m a skribitter, and you are welcome to comment!

There’s a new shop in town

July 3, 2008

It’s summer time, and Baby, it’s hot out there! I was doing some browsing today and came across a gem of a store – with an even better idea, so I’m plugging it!

Over the years, I have had a few special tee-shirts that enjoyed buying, wearing, and then turning into pillows when they got too faded. But now, Spreadshirt promises that the logos are better, and with all of their designs, and the ability to create your own store, well, yours truly did just that. So far, there’s 151 items – Men’s, women’s, juniors, toddler and infant wear, plus a few more items, and the store will be updated daily with new logos, so keep an eye out for it! FYI, the store is called Tee-Time.

If you’re in need of tee-shirts, come on by. And if you’re looking for something special, ask and I’ll see what I can find.

Coffee with a twist

June 24, 2008

I love coffee – hot or cold, it makes no difference. I probably drink more coffee than anything else, and I’m bragging lol Folger’s, or Gevalia’s Kenyan coffee really hits the spot, and while checking out some new sites, I happened upon something called the Toddy Coffee Maker.  This little gadget is $37.50 USD – not a bad price, but after checking out the site, I figured I could make due and create my own version of concentrated, cold-brew coffee, where all I needed to add was hot water – a breeze since I have a new water system installed that gives me hot water at the touch of a button – The cool thing is that you can keep this concentrated brew of coffee in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, and it makes up to 6 cups of concentrated coffee – and that, my friends, is a heck of a lot of coffee! I’ll post my version of the “Toddy” here as I put my “system” together – can’t wait for that first cup. ;)

Where I get my news

January 22, 2008

While surfing around the WWW I discovered a small news site which features their content in streaming video and newsletters. Because I’m cheap, I am not going to pay WP for inserting videos, so the link to RealNews.com opens in a news window.
